Magna Park storage centre plan approved
Published Monday 1 February 2016Plans to build a storage and distribution centre at the Magna Park business park, near Lutterworth, have been approved subject to a number of conditions.
Harborough District Council’s planning committee resolved to grant permission for the plans at an extraordinary meeting held at Lutterworth High School, on Thursday 28 January 2016.
The application is now subject to a potential call in by the Secretary of State.
The application, submitted by IDI Gazeley Ltd, relates to land at Mere Lane, Bittesby.
Councillors agreed plans for a 100,844sqm storage and distribution centre with offices on land adjoining and linked to Magna Park, including formation of access road from Magna Park, erection of gatehouse, creation of roundabouts, partial realignment of Mere Lane and upgrading of the A5 road to dual carriageway, creation of drainage facilities and associated infrastructure and landscaping works.
There were conditions attached to the consent, including the provision of a new roundabout at Mere Lane and a public transport scheme, all of which can be viewed from page 198 of the Planning committee report
