JUST get involved in sport and activities
Published Tuesday 12 January 2016Ladies in the Harborough district are being encouraged to be more active with a series of fun, drop-in sports and activity sessions.
JUST – which officially launches on 18 January 2016 – is a new, district-wide initiative for females, aged 14 years and over, which encourages ladies to turn up, take part and have fun whilst getting fit.
The first of each activity sessions is free, with subsequent sessions just £3 a time. There will also be the chance to earn rewards by attending the regular sessions.
The initiative, run by Harborough District Council and Leicester-Shire and Rutland Sport, will offer the opportunity to enjoy netball, running, dance, roller hockey, squash, football and badminton.
Cllr Rosita Page, Harborough District Council’s portfolio holder for communities, said: “What a great opportunity these sessions are for ladies to enjoy some active time, have fun and meet people too. The emphasis is on just turning up and joining in. There is no need to book or have experience of the sport before. Just turn up and enjoy!”
Times and locations of all the activity sessions can be found at www.harboroughsport.org.uk/just
