Council sells off garage sites

Harborough District Council agreed to sell off a number of garage sites at a meeting of its Full Council on Monday, 15 December 2014.

The council agreed to sell garage sites in:

• Ashby Rise, Great Glen (3 garages) 
• Main Street, Fleckney (5 garages)
• Home Close, Kibworth Beauchamp (20 garages)

The council said the sale will “ensure financial and other assets are maximised and managed efficiently.”

At the meeting, it was also decided that some council-owned garage sites would be retained while the council looks at future options. 

These sites were:

• Paget Road, Lubenham 
• St Cuthbert’s Avenue, Great Glen
• Naseby Square, Market Harborough 

NOTE TO EDITOR: The council agreed to the sale of the Home Close garage site in Kibworth Beauchamp to a cooperative of local residents. This sale will have a restrictive covenant limiting the land use to garages.
