Incorrect leaflet circulating in Broughton Astley

Harborough District Council has been made aware of a leaflet circulating in Broughton Astley which questions why the Neighbourhood Plan proposes “500 dwellings now when the Core Strategy has only asked for 400 over a period of 25 years”. 

This statement is factually incorrect. 

Policy HS 2 of the Core Strategy proposes at least 400 dwellings over the period 2006-2028 (ie a period of 22 years).  The provisions for housing in the Neighbourhood Plan therefore fully accord with the Core Strategy.
