Cleaning of memorial warmly welcomed
Published Friday 20 September 2024Harborough District Council’s cleaning and restoration work to conserve the war memorial in Market Harborough has been warmly welcomed by residents and visitors to the town.
Passers-by have seen at first hand the work in progress and the reaction has been positive.
Cllr Knowles, Leader of Harborough District Council, said: “The reaction of the public speaks for itself. Cllr Anderson raised the need to carry out the works with me and was absolutely right to do so. The Market Harborough Branch of The Royal British Legion supported the proposed actions by the council and the results are there for all to see.
“I’m very grateful to all who have made this project possible and delivered it so quickly."
