Leader of Harborough District Council, Cllr Phil Knowles, and Chief Executive John Richardson, met with the chairs of Foxton and Lubenham Parish Councils this week to listen to community issues of concern.

Topics discussed included the building of Gartree Prison and a number of planning related matters. Details were also shared about the council’s £1 million Community Grant Fund which the leader encouraged contact with the authority’s new Community Development Officer to submit funding applications as the scheme is now open.

Cllr Phil Knowles, Leader of Harborough District Council, said: “Since being elected listening to and working with parish and town councils has been high on my list of things to do, so it is great to get out, listen and talk.

“As a council, community and engagement and development in all corners of the Harborough district is important to us and we have invested in a team to drive this forward. I am pleased that the team is now in place and ready to make positive things happen for our residents.”
