Local projects benefit from nearly £150k
Published Wednesday 28 September 2022Nearly £150,000 has been handed out to community projects thanks to the district council.
Harborough District Council agreed, on 27 September 2022, to allocate funding to two projects in the Harborough district.
The projects are benefiting from Section 106 money which is provided by developers for community projects and social infrastructure in locations where development has taken place.
The projects which successfully applied for funding are:
- St Luke’s Church PCC: The Hub Community Centre and Café, The Pavilion, Manor Field – approx. £135,091 to reuse and extend a redundant Pavilion on Manor Field, Thurnby, owned by Harborough District Council, to provide a community centre and café and, support the local community
- Lutterworth Cricket Club – £13,912.47 for the development of a new cricket ground, based at Lutterworth College, to accommodate the continued expansion of junior and women’s cricket in Lutterworth
People are invited to submit grant applications, before 28 October 2022, for the next round of funding, which will be allocated by the grants panel on 20 December 2022.
