Follow ‘Lutterworth East’ planning meeting online
Published Wednesday 22 July 2020The ‘Lutterworth East’ planning application will be considered on Tuesday 28 July 2020 – and residents can follow the meeting, as it happens, online.
In April 2020, Harborough District Council’s planning committee deferred the decision to consider late representations made on behalf of University Hospitals Leicester.
The application will be considered on Tuesday 28 July 2020 at 6.30pm and the public will be able to view the proceedings at this ‘virtual’ meeting via a weblink which will be publicised on the Council website at least 24 hours prior to the meeting.

The planning committee will consider the application on the night remotely, and registered speakers will be making representations via phone and audio only. Speakers have been asked to submit a written version of their statement as well.
Lutterworth East proposes to create 2,750 new homes, community facilities and employment space.
The 550-acre development is on land east of the town and the M1 would include over 100 hectares of green space, two new primary schools and employment space to create around 2,500 jobs.
The site is identified in the Harborough Local Plan as a key area to accommodate new housing in the District, known as Lutterworth East Strategic Development Area (SDA). If approved, approximately 1,260 of the new homes are expected to be built by 2031 and the rest after 2031.
If the meeting is still ongoing at 9.30pm a vote will be taken to ascertain if the committee wishes to continue beyond that time or adjourn the meeting until another day.
Please note that you will not be able to view the meeting on Safari web browsers; please download Microsoft Edge on your device to view the meeting.
Earlier this year, new powers were granted by Government to Councils to hold committee meetings remotely in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
