Appointment of Independent Persons
Published Friday 13 March 2020An exciting opportunity has arisen to help and support the following public sector organisations to promote and maintain high standards of conduct amongst their elected members.
Blaby District Council, Charnwood Borough Council, Harborough District Council, Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council, Melton Borough Council, North West Leicestershire District Council, and Oadby & Wigston Borough Council, are all looking to appoint a number of Independent Persons.
The role of an independent person will be to become involved in considering any complaints received about the conduct of councillors, and advising both the relevant organisation and the councillor being complained about. This will also involve any issues relating to parish and town councils in the relevant areas.
Expenses will be paid according to each organisation’s applicable rates and training will be provided.
