New era for district’s Innovation Centre
Published Wednesday 15 May 2019Harborough Innovation Centre, which provides office space to new businesses in the Harborough district, is to be managed by the Council from 1 July 2019.
Harborough District Council will take over management of Harborough Innovation Centre, which is owned by the Council, following a decision by the Executive on 25 April 2019.
The existing contract with Oxford Innovation Ltd, which currently manages the Innovation Centre (pictured) on behalf of the Council, will end as per the contract on 30 June 2019.
The Council said it will look to create an over-arching and integrated approach to its economic development activities and business support in the next phase of the Innovation Centre’s operation, so the Centre becomes a focal point for the business community across the district.
Harborough District Council thanked Oxford Innovation Ltd for the service they have provided at the centre over the past seven years.
In March, it was reported how Harborough Innovation Centre has helped create a total of 796 jobs across 122 companies since it opened in 2011.
