District shines at tourism awards
Published Friday 30 November 2018Local businesses and the town of Market Harborough have won at the prestigious Leicestershire Promotions 2018 Tourism & Hospitality Awards, held on Thursday 29 November 2018 in Leicester.
The annual awards aim to showcase and celebrate the excellent work that event organisers, local visitor attractions, hotels, restaurants and food producers undertake to make Leicestershire one of the most attractive counties to live in, work in and visit.
Several local businesses and events were nominated, including Harborough District Council’s Classic Car Show and Summer Food and Drink Festival. Congratulations to all the winners on the night and to our local businesses :
Bruntingthorpe Events : Innovation – Best Places to Stay award
Boboli : Best Casual Dining Experience
Waterloo Cottage Farm : Best Local Food/Farm Shop
Market Harborough : Best Town
Harborough District Council Chairman Cllr Lesley Bowles, said: “What a fantastic evening for the Harborough district. The well-deserved winners show how businesses and events from across the district attract visitors from further afield, to enjoy the festivities, local shops, cafes and restaurants.”
Councillor Neil Bannister, Leader of Harborough District Council said: “We were absolutely delighted to be shortlisted for the annual Tourism & Hospitality Awards. Many congratulations to all the local winners and those highly commended. We are very proud of the excellence demonstrated within our district.”
