People are set to enjoy the tastes, delights and atmosphere of a ‘world village market’ as the popular October Fest returns to Market Harborough.
The three-day festival will feature street food stalls, groceries, crafts, clothing, accessories and vintage items accompanied by a live music stage, craft beer & cider bar, children’s rides and other seasonal entertainment.
On the town Square will be a World Village Market encompassing local and international street foods, grocery products and handmade crafts – while the Commons Car Park will host entertainments, live music and the Craft Beer Festival. The bottom section of the Commons car parjk will be closed during this time and a section of the car park opposite to B&M Stores has been allocated for blue badge parking.
The event will be hosted by Zoom Events, on behalf of Harborough District Council, on Friday 12 October 2018 to Sunday 14 October 2018.
Paul Kennedy, Director of Zoom Events said: “We look forward to welcoming the people of Market Harborough to our October Festival. We will be bringing some special seasonal activities and entertainment to give the festival an all-round family appeal.”
Councillor Neil Bannister, Leader of Harborough District Council, said: “It is fantastic that Harborough district can attract festivals such as this. We welcome any event that brings visitors to our district and hope that people come out to support the festival and see what it has to offer.”
The October Fest will give visitors an opportunity to buy unusual homemade foods from around the world, as well as shopping for hand-crafted gifts in the run up to Christmas. The accompanying beer festival will feature a live music stage including performances from local musicians and artists from further afield. The Famous Last Stand Company bar will serve a range of craft beers and other beverages, while visitors can sit down to relax and soak up the atmosphere.
Market Harborough October Festival is free and will be open on Friday 12 October from 12noon to 7pm, Saturday 13 October from 9am to 7pm, and Sunday 14 October 10am to 6pm.
