Flag raised to mark Armed Forces Day
Published Monday 25 June 2018A specially-commissioned flag has been hoisted above The Symington Building to mark Armed Forces Day.
Harborough District Council raised the flag above The Symington Building in Market Harborough, on Monday 25 June 2018, in the presence of a number of dignitaries.
The Chairman of the Council Cllr Lesley Bowles, Deputy Lieutenant Andrew Granger, veterans, service organisation representatives, and other guests, held a ceremony in Church Square as part of the occasion.
The annual event is an opportunity for the nation to show its support for service men and women, whether veteran or still serving and celebrate the work they do in support of our country; and raise awareness of past and continuing contributions of our service.
