Memorials

Memorials and any form of monument can only be placed on the grave space with our permission. This permission will only be granted where a grave space has an Exclusive Right of Burial recorded against it. 

Alterations to any existing monument or memorial, or their removal, can also only be carried out with the permission of the council. This will include alteration of an existing inscription or the cutting of an additional inscription.

New memorials and monuments, as well as alterations to existing memorials and monuments, will usually be organised by a stone mason or funeral director. If you are arranging new or alterations to existing memorials or monuments, please email cemeteries@harborough.gov.uk with your contact details so we can send you the information you will need to arrange this.
