Apprentice Stories
Thomas Jones- Regulatory Services

Tom started his apprenticeship journey in October 2019, working with the Council's Regulatory Services team. Tom has taken the opportunity to gain his apprenticeship qualification alongside his varied day-to-day work. Let's hear how he is BLAZE-ing his trail as an apprentice:
Benefit
Starting my apprenticeship in October 2019 has given me the best opportunity to work in a different working environment than I’m used to and to apply different skills that I hadn’t needed to use before.
Learn
I feel like an apprenticeship was a better route for me to take rather than going to university because I can learn on the job and practically develop my knowledge and experiences in this specific sector.
Aspire
I hope to continue to learn new skills and develop the skills I have gained during my apprenticeship. I also hope to gain a full-time position with Harborough District Council working within the Regulatory Services.
Zest
I feel like this apprenticeship has given me the drive to pursue a career and improve my skills and abilities even further.
Energised
The support I have received throughout my apprenticeship has provided me with a great start to my career and has made me feel confident enough to take up bigger responsibilities within my team.
