Our policies, plans and strategies - Core Strategy and adopted local plan

The Core Strategy has now been replaced by the Harborough Local Plan 2011-2031, a strategic document which sets out the vision and spatial planning framework for the district.

Following the publication of the National Planning Policy Framework in 2012, the Core Strategy was considered out of date in relation to housing and economic development policies.

The Harborough Local Plan 2011-2031 was adopted on Tuesday 30 April 2019, which has replaced the policies and proposals in the Core Strategy.

The Local Plan proposals maps have been updated following the adoption of the Core Strategy:

View settlement maps of sites that have been assessed as being open space, sport and recreation sites. The information was captured in 2004 and has been updated on an ongoing basis to indicate new sites as they are provided through development.
