Bin collection day change
Please note that these changes will take place week commencing 4th November 2024
Harborough District Council has been issued a direction notice by Leicestershire County Council - meaning that we need to swap collections round on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. This change affects both blue and yellow calendars - the rural round is excluded from this change. There is NO change to Thursday and Friday collections.

Please note that this will not affect the type of bin collected, this will remain the same - it is simply a permanent collection day change.
Following the direction notice issued by LCC, we will no longer be using Cotesbach landfill site to dispose of household waste - this is a positive change as the district will no longer be sending waste to landfill, unless absolutely necessary. Household waste will instead be sent to Coventry Incinerator, a waste to energy plant, meaning waste deposited in your black bin will eventually be converted into energy.

How will this change affect me?
The only change for residents will be your collection day moving, either from Tuesday to Wednesday, or from Wednesday to Tuesday.
Does this change affect the Rural round?
No, properties on the rural calendar are not affected by this change.
Will this change affect the type of bin that I need to present?
