UKSPF Go Business Grants

Funding of up to £2k to help businesses grow

Local grants have reopened for businesses in the Harborough district to help them prosper and grow. Do you need help to start or boost your business to the next stage? Perhaps you are planning a project for which you need extra funding? Apply for support now.

Eligible businesses are invited to apply for a grant of up to £2,000. Applications are open to any business in the Harborough district with an eligible project.

The grants are being managed and distributed by Harborough District Council using £46,000 received from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Funding (UKSPF).

Following the successful UKSPF Grant Scheme in 2023 administered by the council, the grants are spread across the same three themes:

  • Go Green – Helps businesses to reduce their carbon footprints, increase energy efficiency and reduce fixed costs.
  • Go Digital - Supports digital technology solutions which improve business performance and encourage wider/ online access to customers.
  • Go Innovate - Support for new products or methods within your business to help improve efficiencies and create business growth.

This time around, the grant will require businesses to have been through the Leicestershire Business Advice Service (LBAS) programme and must upload an LBAS action plan within their submission. To get started on the LBAS service, please viit https://lbas.online/

How to apply

All applications must be submitted through Grant Approval: https://www.grantapproval.co.uk/

If you have not used Grant Approval before you will need to register an account. If you have used the system before for other grants, you will just need to log in. Once you are logged in, please search select your local authority as ‘Harborough’ and then search all grants. Please select the appropriate Go Grant Scheme. 

Before you apply, you will need:

  • Two quotes for the goods/services you wish to purchase with the grant, and your preferred supplier stated.
  • Copy of your bank statement which matches the bank details you wish to have the grant paid into.
  • Proof of trading.
  • LBAS Action Plan.
  • Proof of Zellar memership (Go Green Grant only)

The grants opened on Wednesday 12 June 2024 and will close on Thursday 31 October 2024, however grants will be allocated on a first come first served basis for those who meet the criteria, as a result the grant may well close before the deadline.
